Revive Academy FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The anticipated expenses are currently under review, but we are committed to ensuring that the cost of RA remains affordable. To achieve this, we intend to implement various measures including flexible payment options as well as discounts for families with multiple children. We aspire to facilitate scholarship opportunities and seek sponsorships to further support our financial assistance initiatives.

We plan to hire teachers who not only excel in their subject matter but also embody Revive’s mission, vision, and values. We will be searching for educators who are not only passionate about teaching but also deeply committed to nurturing the spiritual, moral, and intellectual growth of our students. These teachers will demonstrate a strong personal relationship with their faith and integrate it into their teaching approach, fostering an environment where our Christian values are woven into their everyday interactions with students, parents, and their colleagues. We aim to seek out teachers who are compassionate, empathetic, and dedicated to serving as positive role models for our students, both inside and outside the classroom.

Volunteers will be essential to our operations. As part of our commitment to partnering with parents and fostering active involvement in their child’s education, we encourage parents to volunteer.

The location and home of Revive Academy is to be determined. We are actively praying and searching for property/buildings.

The number of students will depend on the amount of interest within our community. We plan on offering K-8 the first year, leaving room to grow into a K-12 school as the Lord guides and provides.

The opening date will be dependent on property and building for Revive Academy. The earliest we will be opening our doors is the Fall of 2025.

We are an independent institution not tied to any specific church affiliation. Our vision is to receive support from the broader Church of Homer. Operating under the principles of the 5C model through Turning Point Academy, we embody values that are Christian, Classical, Conservative, Collaborative, and Cost-Affordable. Through our partnership with Turning Point Academy, we access a range of top-notch resources to deliver a superior Christian Classical education to our community.

Currently, you cannot utilize your allocation with Revive Academy. We operate independently and exclusively rely on tuition, donors, and fundraising to sustain our school operations.

We follow a Hybrid model which means that all of the curriculum is decided by Revive Academy. Students attend live classes 2-3 days per week in our physical building, and are “home-schooled” the rest of the week. We value this model because it allows for Revive to partner with parents in the education of their child and also allows for flexibility in family life.

Classical Christian education follows the pattern of how everything is learned so students can learn anything. This education model focuses on comprehending the complex, thinking deeply, arguing winsomely, and writing clearly and persuasively - skills needed no matter the future career landscape.

We expect that families will spend their "at home" school days completing school work. As sudent progress into harder subjects, they will spend more time on their homework. The benefit of parent-led learning is freedom to progress at the student's individual pace and the flexibility around parents' schedules. time will vary for each studetn dependding on their personality.

Our goal is for students to spend on average three hours a day for grades K-2, four hours a day for 3-6, five hours for 7-8. This amound assumes parents will be working with multiple children at the same time, and that students will be working more independently as they mature.

Pray about it!

Consider the following questions as parents:

- Will our family benefit from having another person organize the curriculum for our children's instruction?
- Can we provide an environment conducive to learning within our home and lifestyle?
- Are our family dynamics such that our children will respond to us as teachers?
- Are our family dynamics such that we can commit to the workload required at home?
- Is this the best educational model for us?
