Revive Academy Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible is the Word of God, divinely-inspired and without error in the original manuscripts. These Scriptures are made up of 66 books, from Genesis to Revelation, the final authority in faith and conduct. Therefore, the Scriptures cannot be changed or compromised by cultural, political, or personal interpretations. This statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs.
(Psalm 119:89, Matthew 5:18, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe there is but one living and true God, eternally existent in three Persons — Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The persons of the Trinity are equal in every divine perfection, executing distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption.
(Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, John 1:14, 10:30, Colossians 2:9)

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient, limited by nothing other than His own nature and character. He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Governor of all that has been made. He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, hears and answers prayer, and graciously saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. He is the overflowing fountain of all good.
(Psalm 8:4, Matthew 3:17, Ephesians 4:6)

We believe in the true deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, such that two distinct natures, divine and human, were inseparably joined together in one person. We believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles and in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood. We affirm His bodily resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the Father, where He makes perpetual intercession for His children. We anticipate His personal return in power and glory.
(Matthew 1:23, John 1:1, Colossians 2:9, 1 Peter 1:18-21)

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, and with them is worshiped and glorified. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is necessary for the salvation of fallen human beings, and by His work, Christians bear good fruit. The Holy Spirit indwells every true believer in Christ as the guarantee of their faith, to sanctify, empower, teach, and guide.
(John 15:26, Ephesians 1:13-14)

We believe all men are sinners by nature and by choice and are therefore under God’s just and righteous wrath. By His love and gracious character, God has extended the good gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone. This salvation is not earned or merited by anything beyond faith in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and welcomed into the fellowship of the saints. It is the joyous mandate of every Christian to grow in spiritual maturity and spread the good news of the gospel.
(John 3:16, Romans 8:13-14, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20, Ephesians 1:3-14, 4:30, 5:18)

We believe that all human life is created by God in His image and is sacred, of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect and value all human life. God uniquely created each person as male or female. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. We believe that any form of sexual immorality or advocacy of sexual immorality is sinful and offensive to God.
(Genesis 1:26-27, Psalms 139:13-16; Isaiah 1:17)

We are committed to the home and family as set forth in the Bible. God has ordained and created marriage to exist between one man and one woman, with absolute marital fidelity in a life-long covenant. Consequently, individuals should refrain from any sexual conduct or acts outside of this marital relationship.
(Genesis 1:27, Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6, Mark 10:5-9, Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Ephesians 5:25-27, Revelation 19:7-9, Revelation 21:2)

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. All who are united to Christ as Head of the Church are united to one another in love. The Body of Christ is expressed in local churches where members have given a credible confession of faith and engage in Christian community for worship, discipleship, evangelism, and service. We value the New Testament position of Elders and Pastors in the lives of believers for instruction and accountability.
(1 Corinthians 1:2, 12:12, Ephesians 4:4-16)

We believe that in order to preserve the mission and integrity of the school and to provide a Biblical role model to the students and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by the school and all those who attend the school should agree to abide by this Statement of Faith, and all parents/legal guardians of persons who attend the school should agree to this Statement of Faith.
